After Obama’s win, white backlash festers in US – Yahoo News
From Derrick on FriendFeed.
“The vitriol is flailing out shotgun-style,” says Mr. Levin. “They recognize (White Supremacist and Nationalist groups) Obama as a tipping point, the perfect storm in the narrative of the hate world – the apocalypse that they’ve been moaning about has come true.”
This was not unexpected. Sadly I expect it to get worse. On the bright side (if there can be such a thing when it comes to racial hatred) perhaps this will help expose the deep divisions that still exist in this country and help us to come to grips with them. Hopefully we can move past just dialogue and actually start taking concrete actions to attack this problem head on. We’re not a post-racial eutopia yet. We’re far from that regardless of what some people say but that doesn’t mean we should stop striving for it.

5 Signs President-Elect Obama Is a Geek | Geekdad from Wired.com
1. Obama has pledged to create a cabinet-level Chief Technology Officer for the country.
2. He is a big fan of Star Trek. (It’s all about Star Trek! Trek up. Wars down!)
3. He can talk techspeak when the occasion demands it.
4. Obama has repeatedly spoken about using the Internet to make the White House more open and accessible to the public once he’s President.
5. The photograph you see to the right (above), which can even be found on Obama’s official Senate website.

I don’t watch South Park much. I can probably count the number of episodes I’ve seen on both hands but this post election episode is hilarious.
The election was just a front. Obama and McCain are actually members of an Ocean’s Eleven style crew and there’s more to Sarah Palin than meets the eye. Check out the clip and watch the full episode for even more election night shenanigans.

I never thought I’d see this day. Obama won. A black man in the White House. INCREDIBLE!
I’m stunned. I wish my grandma was here physically to witness this. I get to tell my kids and grand children that I witnessed this moment with my own eyes. Eyes that are close to tears as I type this.
I pray that our country can move on now and start repairing the rifts that are deeply dividing us.

The creator of this series, Greg Reese, is an Independent voter. He is supporting Barack Obama in this election but decided to make raps about the other 3 participants in the race to compliment the one he made about Obama initially. His focus in the music is not to support one person over the other but simply to provide informative data about the candidates in a positive entertaining format. The initial Barack Obama rap that started the series is pretty partisan. Reese has pledged to make another one about Senator Obama that’s more in line with the neutral informational format he adopted later in the series.
Check out the tracks he did for Joe Biden and John McCain as well. They’re all fun and well made. To top it off the dude has decent flow so that’s icing on the cake.
