Drifting
Check out this drifiting video made entirely from Gran Tourismo 3 replays. Very impressive. I wish I had this much skill in that game. I can’t drift worth squat in the game. When I do drift it’s by mistake. Anyway, enjoy.

I’ve got a terrible case of the Mondays. Feels like I’ve got a hangover but considering that I don’t drink that can’t be the case. Can it?
Drive Hard. Get A Hard Drive : I’ve had my car almost a year and a month to the day. According to this I could have gotten a new computer with Flat Panel monitor and all-in-one printer if I had waited a year. Rotten timing. Oh well. I’m happy with my 2003 Ford Focus and I can’t complain about my computer either. That flat panel would have been nice though…..
Wow. Another year of my life has passed. It sure did go by fast. My Dad usually asks me if I feel any older on my birthday. This year I’ll have to change my usual answer from “No. Not really.” to “Yes I do”. Year 27 was pretty rough. Dealing with a break-up, a major bi-polar episode with my brother, and a huge bout of depression on my part has taken a lot out of me. I don’t really feel like I’ve grown or gotten stronger from these experiences either. That’s the standard answer right. What doesn’t kill us makes us stronger. I don’t feel stronger. I feel weaker. Worn out. I feel like I’m standing still and the world is passing me by sometimes. 28 isn’t that old but I feel old. What has my life amounted to so far. Not a lot in my opinion. But what am I doing? Today is supposed to be a joyous day. Not one for being down. It’s a day for parties and happiness. My co-workers got me a birthday cake and a card yesterday. It was a complete and utter surprise. I didn’t realize they cared so much. I was truly touched. I think I’ll got eat some of that cake now. Maybe it will cheer me up. Later peeps.
You know you’re tired when you try to lock or unlock your front door by pressing the buttons on your car’s keyless entry fob.
I’ve been up all night making tweaks and adjustments to the place. Notice any difference? Probably not unless you come here often. I adjusted the layout a bit. Moved some things around. Added some things. Got rid of some things. There are a couple of design elements that I’ve been wanting to fix for a while that I finally got done. All in all I’m happy with the changes. Of course with any changes to html or any programming language there are gonna be bugs. At around 3:45 AM as I was getting ready to call it a night I noticed an anoying problem with how the page was loading in Firefox. I quickly checked Netscape to see if it happened there. It did (because they use the same Gecko page engine). I freaked. I checked Internet Explorer just for kicks and wouldn’t you know it loaded perfectly in that piece of junk browser. So anyway to make a long story short I ended up having to go back through the changes I had made line by line until I found where the problem was. In the programming world this is called debugging. Wouldn’t you know it was a problem with one of the last lines of changes I made. That painstaking process took a good 2 1/2 hours or so to complete. By the time I got done fixing the problem I was busy ripping my favorite movie soundtracks to iTunes for transfer to my ipod so I couldn’t go to bed in the middle of that. While ripping the CDs I had to have something to do so I started fiddling with the blog setup again (making sure to check my work after each change I made this time) and before I knew it was (or is) almost 8am. If I were still working 3rd shift I’d be just about ready to get off work. I feel fine though I know I’ll sleep like a log once I lay down. You’ll be happy to know that this all night, blog tweaking, music listening, CD ripping fest was fueled by pure force of will (or stupidity though I prefer the term stubborness). Not a drop of caffein was consumed. I’m not a caffein person. Give me a nice, tall glass of water and I’m good. Well that’s it. That’s all folks. I’ve got a soccer scrimmage at 3:45 today. Gonna need at least a little sleep before that. I’ll check y’all on the flip side.
Because of Winn Dixie is a very sweet movie. Overall I’d say I liked it. The film had a very positive, uplifting tone to it which was nice. I couldn’t get over the feeling that the film had holes in it though. The characters seemed a bit one dimensional. I wish there had been time to flesh them out more. The storyline fell flat in places and left me feeling short changed. A good story is about relationships. I don’t feel the film explored the relationships between the characters as well as it could have. They kind of just seemed to meet and poof they were the best of friends. The ending was a bit too tidy for my taste. I’ll definitely have to read Because of Winn Dixie now to get the full story. If you’re in the market for a nice, light hearted film that the whole family can enjoy this is the one to see. The best parts of the movie are when Winn Dixie smiles and when Otis (Dave Matthews) sings. You’ll have to watch it to find out what I mean.
Out here in suburbia I see a lot of the W – The President bumper stickers on cars. I’m sure you know what I’m talking about. The little square black stickers with white lettering. I see them all over the place. I like them. I think they’re classy looking. I’d never stick one on my car (becasue I think bumper stickers in general are tacky) but that’s beside the point. I only like the ones with the W in a thin font. There are some cheap knock-off stickers with a big fat W in a bold font that I can’t stand. There’s another sticker in the same vain that I like even better though . It’s got an F in the same classy thin font and says The President’s Grade below it. I’ve only seen it once but I couldn’t agree more. It made me chuckle.
I wasn’t able to purchase lunch from our in house cafeteria today because I forgot to get cash from the bank yesterday. So I was forced to get lunch with the change in my pocket which meant 50 cent Doritos and a Snickers bar. I couldn’t help but notice that the Snickers had a new wrapper design. “Maximum amount of peanuts and caramel” along with “Packed to the Max!” was displayed prominently on the packaging which got me to thinking. Does this mean that Mars has been giving us the shaft all these years by not filling the candy bar with as much of the main ingredients as possible? Something to ponder.
